Prior to co-founding MML Capital Partners in 1988, Rory spent 13 years at the Bank of Boston of which nine years were in the United States where his responsibilities included leading the bank’s corporate lending activities in New York. Subsequently he headed the bank’s mezzanine financing unit in London. He has served as a director of BPC, Ferembal, Sicli, Century Inns, Eurofarad, Polestar, Xtreme, GlobeOp and Hawkpoint. He holds a Bachelors degree in Management from the University of Manchester, where he endowed the UK’s first chair in Enterprise and in 2003 was awarded an honorary doctorate. In 2005 he also became the principal benefactor of the Brooks World Poverty Institute.
